Warman back for Year 10!

Streatham IHC are thrilled to announce that James Warman will be back for his 10th season with the Redhawks!

James first iced for Streatham back in 2013/14 season when the team was known as the Redskins. He made an immediate impression with his hard hitting stay at home defensive game. A year away due to personal commitments saw him take a trip down the M4 to Bristol for a season in 2014/15 but saw a swift return to the High Road at the beginning of the 2015/16 season where he has remained an ever present on the blue line since. This will be Warman’s 10th season icing for Streatham and 11 Seasons if including the covid cancelled season! Across this tenure James has played 251 games making him 7th all time in appearances for the club!

Coach Ben Paynter had the following comments on Warman’s return,

“When you are looking to sign your team for the following year you know you have to keep your core together and Warms is exactly that, he is at the centre of the core of this club and bringing him back for his 10th season was a no brainer!

He is a guy that turns up week in week out and gives his all, he works hard, puts his body on the line, is reliable defensively and I know what I’m getting every night! He is a great team mate and very easy for a coach to manage.

When looking at Warmans’ character on and off the ice it is easy to see why he has been around this club for so long and been wanted back in the line up by multiple coaches over the years. He has been with the team through some of the lows and been with it through the ultimate high of winning the National final in Coventry and it’s a pleasure to be able to share his 10th season with him."

Warman commented on the return to the High Road with the following,

“What an end to the season that was Streatham fans! I am still buzzing we finally managed to win the elusive national championship, which will live long in the memory.

Now we turn to the upcoming season and I am looking forward to getting going again after an injury disrupted last campaign. Other teams will strength I’m sure but I am confident we will be competing for every trophy yet again.

Next year will be a special one for me on a personal note, as it will be my 10th year playing for Streatham. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I am looking forward to more good times ahead! Have a great summer and see you in September!”
