Streatham IHC are pleased to announce that Goaltender Nik Romahs will be returning to the club after some time away.
The 19-year-old shot stopper played his junior years on the High Road before a switch to Romford in 2021. This led to him icing in 7 games for Romford’s under 18 team and 13 games for their NIHL1 side. The following year Nik joined the Great Falls Americans in the NA3HL in the United States before a return to the UK for the 2023/24 season back in Romford posting a .933 across 3 games in NIHL1. Nik joining the club alongside Matt Friend and Danny Milton completes our goaltending trio.
Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“Bringing Nik in adds depth to our goaltending line up. He is a young goalie who is keen to learn and will train with the squad and be available to ice when required and push our other two goalies. Being around Milts will benefit him massively and it will be good to see how he develops this coming year. He fills his net well, is athletic and works hard with a good attitude. I’m pleased to be able to have him on board this year.”
Nik commented,
“I’m excited to return back to where it all started for me, Streatham has been an incredibly strong team in the last couple of years, so I already knew my decision when I got the call. I’ve grown and matured as a goalkeeper in the last couple of years and I’m ready to work hard and can’t wait for the season to start.”
