Shepherd Back With The Flock

Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that Net-minder Brett Shepherd will be returning to Streatham. 

The 24-year-old shot stopper started his hockey on the High Road, progressing through the junior club, with his first taste of senior hockey coming in the 2016/17 season where he started to train with the Redhawks. In 2018 Brett got his first bit of game action with the Redhawks while splitting his time with the Slough Jets in NIHL2. Slough would be where Brett stays for the following three seasons as the Jets moved up to NIHL1 where Brett would continue to show his ability posting a .917 in his last season with the club. These numbers caught the attention of the Berkshire Bees of the national league where he has been since.

Head Coach Ben Paynter commented, 

“Being able to bring Brett in at this stage of the season is a big boost for our squad. He brings recent national league experience and has proven in the past he can perform at this level. He works hard, prepares well and does everything he can to perform at his best. He knows a lot of the guys and the club already and I have heard nothing but good things about his character so I think the transition will be smooth. 

With Danny Milton picking up an injury in preseason, adding Brett adds another high-quality goalie to our line up while also ensuring Milton can recover from his injury properly.”

Brett had the following to say, 

“I'm really excited to be returning to the High Road. It is the place where I started hockey and means a lot to be back in Streatham. There is a good group of guys here who all want to add more silverware to the collection, and I want to help contribute to that. I look forward to pulling on the jersey again and seeing you all soon!”
