Streatham IHC are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward, Damon Porter, for the remainder of the season.
Damon joins the Redhawks after a successful spell with league rivals the Chelmsford Chieftains, where he spent the 2023/24 season seeing him notch 70 points in 36 games. Not only did Damon have a good year personally but he helped the Essex side win the NIHL1 South Play Offs. Prior to his time in the UK Damon played all of his hockey in Canada before some time in the US with Arizona State University.
Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“Being able to add Damon at this point of the season will be a massive boost for our offence. He has a great shot, moves the puck well and will add some speed to our offence. He caused us problems when playing against us at times last season and I’m excited to have him with us for the rest of the year. Damon has skated with the team, and I think he will be a good fit in our group!”
Porter commented,
“I’m looking forward to getting started with the team, it’s a close-knit room and it’s reflected on the ice. I’m excited to contribute to lifting some trophies this year and playing in front of their great fans.”
