Streatham IHC is thrilled to announce that Ben Paynter will return as Player Head Coach for the 2025/26 season.
Paynter’s coaching journey with the club began during the 2022/23 season when he took over from Michael Farn. However, his history with Streatham goes back even further when he joined the club as a player in 2017. After a brief stint with Bracknell during the 2018/19 season, Paynter returned to the High Road the following season where he has remained and achieved significant success.
Despite the challenges faced during the current season, Paynter remains focused on the upcoming playoff weekend and already has plans in motion for next year!
General manager Graham D’anger commented:
“I'm really pleased that Ben has agreed to return as head coach for the 2025/26 season. Ben has done a fantastic job over the last 3 seasons winning multiple trophies and I'm looking forward to working with him again and hopefully we can continue our success in the coming season”
Coach Paynter had the following to say:
“I’m pleased to be back on the high road for another season, this club is home for me now and to be able to coach and play here for another year is a great feeling. We have a great set up here with a great fan base, brilliant off ice team as well as having great support from owners, Graham and Dawn.
Missing out on the cup and league titles this season has made me hungrier than ever to get back to winning ways and we aim to do that this coming weekend at the play offs. Play offs is our main priority at the moment but there is lots of work in the background preparing for next season with some fan favourites and core parts of the roster already committed to returning. I can’t wait to see as many of you as possible in Sheffield this weekend!”
