Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that JJ Pitchley will be returning for his second term on the High Road.
Last season saw JJ arrive on the High Road after a career that has seen him ice for his hometown Romford for a large part plus Basingstoke, Bracknell and Slough as well as spending time in the states with the Dallas Snipers of the WSHL. The 30-year-old met the expectation of supporters on the High Road with his high intensity and physical style while adding 38 points in 31 games across all competitions for The RedHawks.
Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“JJ has a great skill set and has the ability to be a real big threat at this level, he had a slow start adjusting to the league and the new systems but once he got going the points followed and I have no doubt he can maintain his physical play and add even more offence this coming season. He has the ability to score big goals in high pressure moments, for example, scoring a penalty shot at Coventry to see us on our way to the National title and I can’t wait to see how he can impact this squad this coming season.”
JJ commented,
“I’m glad to be back for another season at the High Road.
After a very good year with 4 out of 5 trophies I told Ben, as soon as we won at Coventry, I wanted to be back this season! The boys, the fans, Graham and Dawn did a tremendous job last year to get us to that point at Coventry in April and there wasn’t anywhere else I’d want to be playing.
The group of guys we had last year did an amazing job of being consistent all season and, with some changes and new faces this summer, I think we have strengthened and we are looking to once again win some silverware.”
