Streatham IHC are delighted to announce the signing of veteran forward Ryan Watt.
Ryan first appeared on the High Road back in 2017 under Jeremy Cornish, he then switched to Bracknell in 2018 before a return to the High Road in 2019 where he has been a ever present force driving our offence ever since. Watt comes with an abundance of experience at this level and higher playing his first senior game in 2004 for his home town team Basingstoke Buffalo as well as 5 appearances with the Basingstoke Bison in the Elite league at only 15 years old! The experienced Scotsman has amassed over 20 years of senior hockey playing across every tier of British hockey as well as earning caps for Great Britain at under 18 and 20. Most recently he has captained the side to plenty of silverware on the highroad, most notably notching our first goal getting us well on our way to success at the National Final in Coventry.
On the return to the High Road, Watt commented,
“So excited to be back for Streatham, very proud of what we have built and won over the last few years and like coach Paynts said we're not done yet. Can't wait to get started”
Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“Being able to secure someone with Wattys experience and skill at this level is massive. He has been a huge part of all of our success over the years and he has the ability to score massive goals when it matters. He plays the Streatham way with a blend of skill and physicality and knows what it takes to win trophies! We've played together for a long time now and it’s great to have someone I trust to lean on and play along side!”
