Christmas message from the Captain

December 24, 2019

Michael Farn on the season so far

It’s always nice to finish off the last game before Christmas with a win, especially winning on the road in Gillingham. I thought we did enough to deserve to win the game but probably didn’t get to the levels that we expect to. Having 5 different goal scorers shows the depth we have and gives us that goal scoring threat on every line.

I think overall the first half of the year has been better than we could of expected at the beginning of the season. We are fully aware there’s a long way to go and plenty of work still be done but are confident we have it within the team to bring some silverware back to the High Road this year.

Our first game back will be the biggest game of the season to date, taking a trip down to Solent and Gosport. We have a point to prove and will need to be at our best when we return to the ice after the Christmas break. Solent had a clear game plan against us last time and executed it just as I’d imagine they planned. It’s down to us to overturn the last result and give us the advantage in the league.

Hopefully we return back to the High Road the following night with the 2 points, to face the tough test of the Raiders. They are on a great run of form at current and will be full of confidence.

We all look forward to a nice break but already have one eye on the second half of the season.

I hope you all have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Cheers
Farny
