Streatham IHC are delighted to announce Ben Ealey-Newman agrees to sign up in SW16 for another year. The lively forward joined us from Bracknell Hornets where he has been a standout player for a number of seasons.
Speekaing to Ben (Ealey-Newman) said to Coach Ben
“I quickly realised after just a few games last year that this is a very special club, not only because of the team we had out on the ice but the off ice staff, volunteers and offcourse fans! After Speaking to Coach Paynts it was a no brainer to sign with him for another season in Streatham. I’m looking forward to winning some more silverware and seeing everyone back at the rink. Until then I’ll be hacking my way around the English country side (golf). Hope you all have a good summer!”
The 23 year old grew up playing hockey in Slough where he rose through the ranks before breaking into the senior side as far back as 2013 as a fresh faced teenager. A spell at Oxford City Stars enhanced his reputation before moving to Bracknell where he get into the alternate Captain role.
Coach Ben is pleased to announce Ben and said:
Ben is a player that goes about his business quietly but adds fireworks when required.
Whether it be a massive goal, as we saw in the play off final weekend or showing his physical presence with a fight.
He is a no nonsense type of player who wears his heart on his sleeve and wants to win hockey games.
He instantly fit in with the ethos we have as a team last year and I’m delighted to have him back.
