Forward Ryan Watt is hoping for a busy home crowd this Saturday as the RedHawks take on MK Thunder at the Streatham Arena.
The team are fresh from a four point weekend where they won 9-1 in Romford then battled back from 2-0 down at home to Solent on Sunday to win 4-3.
Watt scored two stunning goals in the game and had time to drop the gloves with Mitch Murray to keep the crowd on the edge of their
seats. Averaging over a goal a game, the 30 year old is certainly enjoying his time in SW16.
“Solent was a tough game” he explains. “Being down by two goals is a rare occurrence for us and being at home and chasing a league title we showed real fight and character to get ahead and hold out.
"The last five minutes was pretty intense but we did what was needed to get two big points.”
Watt is in his second spell with the club after joining us from Bracknell Bees in the summer. After serving a suspension he is now back doing what he does best, with 19 goals and 18 assists in 19 games.
“I’m really enjoying playing” he admits. “Scoring goals and winning goals, and long may it continue for the remainder of the season. Our powerplay is firing really well and I’ve picked up some old chemistry with Coach Carr.”
Streatham face MK Thunder at Streatham Arena on Saturday at 5.30pm before a road trip to Invicta Dynamos on Sunday, who’ll be desperate to avenge the Cup final loss a fortnight ago.
“Hopefully the rink is full on Saturday and we leave the fans entertained” continued the winger.
“We’ve got a great record against Invicta this season but it’s always tough to go into that building. They are a better team at home and it’s gonna be a battle for the two points.”
