Streatham surged to their second win in as many games as the 2019/20 campaign continued in a positive manner. Fresh from an 8-2 win over Slough Jets the week before, the RedHawks found their goalscoring touch again in Oxford with an 8-1 road win at Oxford City Stars.
Player Coach Adam Carr had to shuffle his lines to accommodate the loss of the suspended Adam Wood but otherwise iced an unchanged line up.
With just three minutes on the clock Captain Michael Farn had the travelling RedHawks support on their feet as he made it 1-0 from the point. Two minutes later it was 2-0 thanks to a first Streatham goal for new signing Jonathan Wallius.
A slashing penalty on Rhys McCormick gave the Stars a powerplay chance to get back into the game, but with a man short, the RedHawks extended their lead to 3-0 as Adam Carr finished a pass from Vanya Antonov.
Things didn't get any better for the hosts in the second period as within four minutes the Londoners scored again, this time through defenseman James Warman.
A minute later the Stars finally found a way past Damien King in the Streatham goal. A powerplay effort by Jake Florey punishing a cross checking penalty on Brandon Miles.
The visitors took a 4-1 lead into the third period and for the second week running showed their depth of quality.
Carr fired home two more goals for his hat trick between lone goals from Danny Ingoldsby and Brandon Miles to take the scoreline to 8-1.
Carr took the man of the match award with a hat trick and four assists on the night.
