#SIHC new jerseys have landed...

Streatham IHC are pleased to announce their captains for the 2022/23 season.

Leading the team this year will be #49 Ryan Watt. Watty will be entering his 19th season of senior hockey dating back to the 04/05 season where he made his senior debut for the Basingstoke bison in the EIHL. Over them years he has gain a wealth of experience from the NIHL, EPL and elite league where he has worn the ‘A’ on numerous occasions.

Returning as Assistant captain is non other than #16 Jordan Gregory. Jordan will be entering his 6th season as a Redhawk, following on from being an Assistant captain last season. This will be Jordan’s 11th season playing NIHL1 and his knowledge of the league and his attitude and willingness to put his body on the line for his team is a factor of why he will return as an assistant captain once again.

New to our 3 captains this year is returning player, #37 Sam Waller. Waller was a late addition to the Redhawks last season, after a number of season out of the game. He quickly showed the level of play he could provide becoming a key part of the teams success last season. Waller has a wealth of experience amassing 9 seasons and 375 games in the old EPL.

Redhawks coach, Paynts had the following comments regarding the appointment of his captains,

“Watty, Gregory and waller all bring a different dynamic as captains, in Watty, you have a out and out hockey player at heart, who loves everything about the game and understands the honour it is to captain a hockey team. He understands how a hockey team should behave and his experience is second to non at this level and that will be invaluable to us as a group.

Gregory is someone I have played alongside and been friends with since we were teenagers, there aren’t many people I trust more and I know I will always get a honest opinion. He plays like a true leader, and will always put his team mates first.

Waller is someone that goes about his business quietly. He turns up every week with a consistent performance and is well respected by his team mates. As he settled into his return to hockey last year he quickly became a big part of our roster and this coming year I will look for him to use his experience to really lead our defence.

On the opposite side of our captains letters this season you will see our selected charity’s logo featured on the front of the whole squads jerseys this year. For this season the club is supporting the Hirshsprungs charity. This charity is being represented by club faithful Emma and Tim Heffron, who's young son and SIHC fan, 'Little-Mickey' suffers with the condition. More information about the Hirshsprungs condition can be found at: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hirschsprungs-disease/

Fans who have already owned and loaned jerseys you will of course get your jersey at the end of the season, but for anyone interested in ordering a bespoke home or away jersey please email our management team at streatham1972@yahoo.co.uk with your size and requirements.

The jerseys ordered for supporters are the same as the game ones that the players wear and the price therefore reflects that at £70.
