Pitchley Pitches up on the High Road.

Streatham IHC are pleased to announce the signing of JJ Pitchley from Bees IHC of the National League.

JJ Brings with him a wealth of experience across the NIHL, EPIHL and overseas in the U.S. Romford Born Pitchley started his career in Romford before heading across to Bracknell in 2009 where he joined current coach Ben Paynter. Pitchley would play the next 2 seasons in Bracknell along side some of his new Streatham team mates, before a switch back to his home town team Romford in 2011. Since then Pitchley has spent time in the United States, Slough, Basingstoke, Bracknell and Romford. JJ lands himself in Streatham with a reputation of being able to put up points while play on the edge, something we are sure will find him being a favourite on the High Road.

Coach Paynter commented, 

‘JJ has the ability to produce some great numbers at this level. He is big and strong, has the ability to take the puck to the net and also has a great shot. That combined with his willingness to play on the edge will make him a great fit in our line up. Im looking for us to be more intense as a team this coming season and I think JJ will add to that. I have known him a long time, I know that he loves the game, wants to win and I cant wait to see what he can do in a Redhawks jersey.’

‘I'm excited and honoured to be joining a club with such rich history in the hockey world in the UK – I know the history of the club both early years and more recently so I am eager to be a part of that success this season coming. Having played with and against a lot of the guys already, im looking forward to seeing some old faces and winning some cups! I know how passionate and loud the fans are so im looking forward to that first home game that’s for sure! I’ve known Ben my whole career and we’ve been team mates as kids and our first couple of years in the league so I know what he is about and how he plays! So when we spoke it was an easy decision to sign.’’
