Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that forward Ben Paynter has committed to another season with the club.
The 25 year old had a personal best points year last season scoring 20 goals and 32 assists in the league, while also picking up Coaches Player of the Year.
“It was an easy decision to come back, last season was the most enjoyable season I’ve had in a long time” said the Southampton born player.
“We have a tight knit group of guys in the room and the fans make it a great place to play. It is refreshing to be expected to win every game. With the season being cut short last year I feel there is unfinished business and I am excited to get back to it and try and win the trophies we were hoping to win last year. Farny is putting together another great team and I can’t wait to get going once we get back to it.”
Paynter joins Vanya Antonov and Ryan Watt on the announced roster so far and Player Coach Michael Farn is pleased to see him return.
“Paynts really stepped up last year and it shows how valuable he was to the team by recently receiving the honour of Coaches player of the year award” he said.
“He had a career best in terms of points but the way he took pride in every part of his game was the bit that impressed me most. He’s has a really smart hockey brain and has huge drive to win. I really want him to step up another level this year and I know he is more than capable.”
