Saturday, we've been putting a big focus on starting games right, especially after the way our games have tended to go this season.
We'd had a week off and it was evident straight away that the lads were up for it racing into a 4-0 lead before they switched goalies. We then kept going and were 7-0 up at the end of the first. As much as I wanted the lads to keep going and keep the good habits going for the rest of the game, the game was over as a contest and in the end it was a very professional performance.
On Sunday it was a massive game and nice to get the win. A good start again in the first period and with a big crowd in the building it made it even better. We should have scored a few more in the first and the guys took their foot off the gas in the second, so perhaps I was a bit too complimentary during the break. Losing the period 3-1 was unacceptable by our standards but credit to Chelmsford for pulling it back as we know they have the quality to do that.
I thought we took the game to them in the third and could have had a couple of goals but thankfully overtime didn't last long thanks to a lovely goal from Ben Ealey-Newman.
Thanks to everyone for your support last weekend and we're looking forward to skating out again at the High Road on Saturday against MK Thunder.
