Streatham IHC are pleased to announce that Maks Maslak, will be joining the team on a more permanent basis with a formal 2-way agreement. His hard work and good attitude has not gone unnoticed and will be given the chance to ice with the Redhawks on a more frequent basis, along side his commitments to the Junior Club and the NIHL2 Blackhawks. 17 year old Maks has come through the ranks at Streatham. He has played for a range of different age groups.
Coach Paynter had the following to say,
“Maks has been skating with us since the beginning of the season and has shown a real good attitude and work ethic. He has good size, skates really well and has a great shot. He was given an opportunity a couple of weeks ago to ice with us and showed he is more than capable at this level. I can’t wait to see how he develops with more ice time and think he can be a real impact player for us come the end of the year if he continues to work.”
Maks is excited for the opportunity, commenting…
“Im extremely grateful and fortunate to have been offered this opportunity by the Redhawks, im looking forward to learning more and continuing my career with this invaluable experience.”
Paynter continued by saying,
“We have some great talent coming through at Streatham, I am in frequent communication with Gus the player Coach of the NIHL2 Blackhawks and this is only a positive to be able to give these young guys a path to NIHL1. While we will always have a focus on competing for silverware, I understand the importance of giving opportunities to the players in our junior club to progress and hopefully become full time players. Jack Hoppes and Milique Martelly are examples of that and Redhawks fans should be excited by the youth coming through. We have Streatham juniors training with us every week and we hope to have more follow in the footsteps of Maks with formal 2 ways agreements.”
