Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that current Captain Michael Farn has agreed to take up the position of Player Coach for the 2020/21 season.
Farn has been a standout player for the club since joining us from Milton Keynes Lightning, winning league player of the year in his first season and nominated to the league All-Star team the last two seasons running.
Having already lifted the NIHL South Cup this month, Farn has led from the front as our captain and knows exactly what is needed for us to be successful.
“I’m delighted to have been given an opportunity to coach at such a historic club” said Farn, whose career CV you can view here.
“It’s an honour to have Dawn & Graham put their faith in me to coach next season. The club is run so well from top to bottom and has a great fan base which makes it such an inviting position to want to be in charge of.
“I’ve really enjoyed the last 3 seasons playing on the High Road and couldn’t be happier to be back for a 4th season, to coach as well as playing.
“I think it goes without saying I’ve got some big boots to fill as Carsy has done an awesome job so far this season. I think everyone is fully aware of the trophy filled career he has had as a player and just as successful start to his coaching life.
“He deserves all the recognition he gets and I’m sure he will lead us to more success this year, hopefully ending up with the perfect send off.
“For now we are firmly focused on the final 3 trophies of the year, but come the summer I will be extremely excited to get next season up and running.”
