Streatham Captain Ben Paynter says the squad can't wait to hit the ice again this weekend, after two weekends without a game. The RedHawks host Invicta Dynamos on Saturday at the Streatham Arena in the London Cup, before travelling to Chelmsford to take on the Chieftains.
"The boys are eager and excited to get back to some games" admitted Paynter.
"I think it was a good opportunity for some guys to get some good rest and shake off some injuries but we have still been training hard and working on things for the coming weekend.
"We play two good teams on the weekend in the London cup and two wins will edge us closer to some silverware as well as really get us going in the right direction for a big few games leading into the Christmas break, including our league cup semi final against Solent."
Streatham take on Solent Devils in the two legged NIHL Cup semi final over the 11th and 12th December, and tickets went on sale for the home leg earliert this week.
"The cup semi final is our first chance at some knock out hockey this year and these are exciting games that our team wants to be in" continued Paynter.
"Solent are a difficult team to play against especially on their ice so a strong first leg away is vital."
