A chat with...

Player Coach Adam Carr gives his thoughts on the season so far, the upcoming games and the decisions he has made in recent weeks.

As we roll into November we are still unbeaten. Even playing games that we are expected to win the boys have been approaching the games in the right manner with the right attitude. As a player I know it’s difficult to raise your game when you are expected to win games but we have been playing the right way so I am pleased with how we are playing.

We were missing some players at the weekend including Vanny (Antonov). I know that although we won the game comfortably against Haringey, there was a little disappointment that he didnt play at the Palace which is completely understandable as he is an exciting talent to watch and I know fans will want to see him in a Streatham jersey at every opportunity.

For me he is the best player in our league and lets be honest, any team in the National League would love to have him in their team.

So we are very lucky to have him at Streatham and the key point to make is that above all other factors he is a player motivated by enjoying his hockey - it's as simple as that, and it's down to me to manage. There are a small handful of games that he will play for Bracknell (as on Sunday) and those appearances will be decisions I will make and stand by, while doing my best to manage the impact of any suspensions/injuries that arise as a result.

Looking ahead, we have some big games coming up to look forward to. Invicta are always challenging games for us and we face Chelmsford and Solent soon who are both flying high so it will be a good test for us over the next few weeks.

I mentioned it earlier but it was great to see so many fans making the journey to Alexandra Palace on Sunday, and we all appreciate your continued support home and away. I hope to see you all again this weekend in what will be two tough fixtures against the Dynamos.

Cheers
Carsy
