Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that Stanley Ratcliffe will return to the club for his second season as assistant coach.
Stan was a member of the 2021/22 team on a two way with our junior club and then transitioned to taking the reigns behind the bench at the start of the 2022/23 season where he had a successful first season supporting player Head coach Ben Paynter, steering the team to a league and play off double. That success continued into the 2023/24 season, where again, Stan steered the team from the bench to 4 trophies with the most recent being the national championship in Coventry.
Head Coach Ben Paynter commented,
“I’m over the moon that stanner has agreed to come back in the form of assistant coach for the coming season, as a player coach I need someone I can trust and rely on to help me run the bench, he is calm and composed in big moments and reads the emotion and momentum in games well leading him to making good decisions at key times. The boys really respect him which is testament to his character considering he is younger than most of the guys in the team. I can’t wait to work with Stan for another season and see what we can do in 2024/25.”
Stan commented,
“I’m delighted to be re-signing with the RedHawks for another exciting season. The decision to return was an obvious one, given the absolute pleasure it is to work with Paynts and a team with such an incredible desire to win. I’m eagerly looking forward to next season working with the boys and furthering the success we’ve had over the past seasons.”
Club owner and manager Graham D’anger had the following to say,
“I'm very pleased that Stanley has agreed to return and assist Ben with the coaching at Streatham. This will be Stanley's third season with the Redhawks assisting Ben with the coaching and helping run the bench on match days. For a young lad he is very mature for this age and has earned the full respect of the team.”
The club continues to build for the 2024/25 season behind the scenes and we will bring player announcements through out the summer.
