Streatham Captain Ben Paynter was a happy man after his side beat Slough Jets and Romford Jnr Raiders in the space of 48 hours to get the 2021/22 league campaign off to a perfect start.
"It was great to start the season off with a four point weekend, it shows our intentions for this year."
said the 26 year old forward.
"We got ourselves into some penalty trouble over the weekend but we showed we can handle some adversity and still get a result"
In fact the RedHawks racked up 88 minutes in penalties over two games to keep the shorthanded unit and new goalie Tom Annetts busy. A point not lost on his Captain.
"Annetts had a solid weekend for us in goal and made some saves he shouldn’t have to make. He kept us in the games all weekend and showed his quality that he brings to the team"
Streatham now face another double header weekend with a home game against Oxford City Stars on Saturday followed by a road trip to MK Thunder on Sunday.
"All the boys are excited to see the high road buzzing again next Saturday. They were on their feet making plenty of noise at the end of the last game so hopefully we can keep giving them reason to return"
