Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that Ryan Watt has committed to another season in South London.
The 30 year old missed the start of last season through suspension but then picked up like he’d never been away with 25 goals and 20 assists in just 23 games.
A hat trick in the Cup final and match winning goals proved his worth to the team, while his stickhandling and finishing had the High Road crowd on the edge of their seats across the campaign.
“Like every hockey player and fan in the world I can’t wait to start playing again and hopefully it will be in the new season in September” said the former Basingstoke, Slough, Bracknell and Braehead winger.
“I’m more than happy to have signed back with the RedHawks as the current league and cup champions.
“I’m looking forward to helping Coach Farn and the rest of the boys retain and add to our titles. The new season cannot come soon enough.”
Watt’s signing is the second of new Player Coach Michael Farn’s tenure and continues the puck sliding towards our eventual return to the ice.
“Watty may split opinions but there is one thing for sure, and that is he’s a team first guy and without doubt the most skilled guy in the league” said Farn.
“He’s got bags of experience and trophies, alongside that he’s a massive character on and off the ice. I’ve known Watty for years and glad he has chosen to come back for another season on the High road.
“When he’s enjoying his hockey, he’s a pleasure to watch. I’m expecting more of the same again for the 20/21 season.”
