Behind
the scenes

The SIHC Management

Graham and Dawn D'anger have been the management team behind the club for 7 years.

Encapsulating all they do for the club in one bio is a tall order, but to summarise, they are the glue that keeps the show running.

Travelling to all home and away games together and dealing with almost everything to do with the club. They've been here through our rollercoaster  journey from old rink to new rink via Brixton and all that came with it.

From last gasp relegation escapes to the joy of our league and cup double win in 2019/2020, they've seen it all.

By day. Graham, works for the auction house Christies (and loves to sample cake) and Dawn is a professional nanny by trade. You can find Dawn, the ever obliging baker on her twitter and instagram feeds. If the team win, she can often be seen 'knocking out' a wold-class lemon drizzle for the squad.

Terry & Don - The backroom staff

Every hockey club needs a solid support team behind them and SIHC are lucky to have Assistant Coach Terry England (left) and Equipment Manager Don Young (centred).

Terry assisted previous coaches for the club and he will be doing the same with Coach Farn. Terry is a calm presence on the bench and at training, while Don keeps the sticks taped, water bottles filled and much more besides.

Terry, a private ambulance driver for the NHS (hero) and Don, a retired removal man, both handle(d) pressure in their careers and gameday brings its own unique moments. Gentlemen, we all thank you for what you do week in week out.

Tanya - Sports Therapist

A major part of Streatham Ice Hockey is the person that sorts out the knocks, bruises and putting the team back together, well, this is ice hockey...

The club is graced with our very own Sports Therapist,
Tanya Romans - MSc BSc(Hons) MSST.

She is a graduate Sports Therapist and a member of the Society of Sports Therapist. Studied Sports Therapy at the University of Gloucestershire for 3 years. During her time at the University she volunteered with many of the University sports teams including American Football, men and women’s hockey, basketball, men’s rugby league and water polo. She also massaged Gloucester Rugby Union U21 academy and the international Samoan Rugby Union team.

Angela & Aaron - Announcer & DJ

Every home game needs an announcer and DJ and SIHC are lucky to have Angela and Aaron.

Angela has quite the voice that welcomes the team onto the ice and announces the goals, the penalties and keeps the crowd up to date on the referees decisions.

They work very well together, with Aaron playing some great tunes to keep the crowd entertained. A pairing that is always there for home games and they will always 'Bring the Noise!'

Lyn & Dave - Front desk, drums & gates

The ticket desk is the first port of call at any home game. Lyn is always in charge greeting all fans with a smile.

Partner to Dave, she has been a fan of SIHC for many years. Dave (Mutley) a loyal supporter and one of the fans to 'Bring the Noise' as he is a regular on the drum and also a gate keeper for players sent to the penalty boxes.

Both Lyn & Dave are regular at home and away games driving the teams forward Ziggy & D-man Cookie to play.

Sam - 50/50 Raffle on gameday

As spectators and fans enter the rink on gameday, Sam will greet you with the '50/50' call...

A long time supporter and fan of Streathams journey and keen photographer of @iamsam28 (Twitter feed) she adds her tight photographic quality (right) to the intensity on the ice.

So, next time you enter the rink, greet Sam with a smile and pick up a 50/50 raffle ticket.

The Scoro family & Supporters Club

The Scoro Family (The Newmans) have been part of the SIHC for many years. Paul Newman is the brains behind 'Beating the Scoro' and Michele Newman runs the SIHC Supporters Club with fellow fan Caren.

Next time you're at a home game, pick up a raffle ticket to see if you get the chance to take on the Scoro and drop by the Supporters club table as you enter the rink.

Andrea - Gameday shop

On game day the SIHC shop merchandise is watched over by one of the clubs loyal supporters and NHS heroes.

Andrea has seen many games and many teams play on the ice. A regular in the away stand as well and a long term friend to the SIHC managment. She regularly sponsors a team jersey each season.

So, should you need any game day merchandise from the shop, Andrea is the person to find.

Debbie & Dave - Timing bench and Goal Judge

Husband and wife team and long fans of the ice hockey game.

Debbie and Dave Lake are a regular party of the SIHC family, Debbie is responsible for putting the information onto the score board. Dave has the important role of goal judge and takes his place behind the goal at many home games each season.

Both regulars at many away games throughout the season and with a wealth of knowledge about players in the league for both male and female teams.

Michael - Goal Judge

Long term fan, NHS hero worker and home game goal judge, Michael is one of the fans who has been supporting our small club for many years, even decades.

His voluntary role within the club is to be the perosn who presses the button that lights up the all important goal light when any team or SIHC player scores.

Judith - Club Secertary

Judith, a truly behind the scenes key member of the club.

Sometimes seen in the timing box putting the results and penalties up on the score board. But, the ex Head Mistress is the person who processes the paperwork for the club that allows SIHC to have the players on the ice all season.

One day Judith, we will get a photo of you...

Mel - Graphic Design

Mel became involved with Streatham to bring the clubs promotional material up to date.

As the club updated the Streatham name. A opportunity arose to freshen the clubs identity and players jerseys into what you see today. An amateur photographer, Mel is seen in different positions around the rink at a home game, along with young fellow photographer Kieran Halliday (Flickr account)

For game-day, the task is to capture the action on the ice and the SIHC atmosphere. Imagery is used for the club website, promotional material and rink displays.
