Watt a return

Streatham IHC are pleased to confirm the signing of forward Ryan Watt from Bracknell Bees. The 29 year old former GB junior international joins us for a second spell at the club, having been our alternate Captain in 2017/18

That season Watt lit up SW16 with his feisty play combined with an eye for goal notching 15 goals and 17 assists in 28 games.

A natural talent with plenty of spark, Watt has had a colourful career since making his senior hockey debut as a highly rated teenager in 2006 with Basingstoke, where he came up through the junior ranks.

A signature always sought after in the EPL, spells with the Bison, Slough Jets, Swindon Wildcats and Hull followed, with a year in the Elite League back home with Braehead Clan included. A GB call up at u18 and u20 level were also achievements for the Scot, who also went on to help coach the South West junior conference teams.

"I'm really pleased to have Watty back with us in Streatham" said Player Coach Adam Carr.

"When I took the coaching job he was one of the names at the top of my list of people I wanted in the team. I know he has a bit of a reputation but that means nothing to me because I know what type of team mate he is.

"He is great in the room, he hates to lose and he will put the team first to make sure we don't lose.

"He has some unbelievable skills and great vision and he will always stick up for his team mates. I'm expecting a big year from Watty, he is coming here because he wants to win and he will be a big part in helping us do so."

Watt will begin the season suspended after a controversial incident in a Bees game against Peterborough Phantoms at the back end of last year. He is likely to miss the first seven games of the season as a result but will be back with a bang on his return.

"I'm excited to return to the RedHawks this time round to play under my old line mate" explained Watt.

"Coach Carr is recruiting a team to compete for silverware and has already secured a good roster with a great bunch of guys. It's something I want to be a part of.

"Unfortunately I still have some games carried over from last season's suspension but I'll be ready to go when it's time."

You can own and loan Watt's home or away jersey for £100. Your name or message will be on the back of the jersey all season and you get to keep it at the end. Demand is always high for these jerseys so please email and you will be put in a draw. To see the designs checkout our promo video -
