McCormick signs up in SW16

Streatham IHC are pleased to announce the signing of young forward Rhys McCormick ahead of the 2019/20 season.

The 19 year old winger joins us from Solent Devils where he tallied 4 goals and 8 assists last year, while also making six appearances for the Basingstoke Bison.

McCormick spent his junior career in Solent before moving onto Guildford and Basingstoke where he captained the u18 team. Rhys also spent a year out in Canada playing in the GMHL for Coldwater Falcons.

"I'm very honoured and excited to be joining Streatham" explained the Southampton born player on the move to South London.

"It's a great organisation with a lot of history behind it. I feel Carsy (Coach Adam Carr) is putting together a strong squad with some fantastic top end players. For a young guy like myself I feel it will be a good place for me to play under some very experienced players and enhance my development."

McCormick becomes the 8th forward added to the line up alongside player coach Adam Carr, Ben Paynter, Brandon Miles, Ivan Antonov, Danny Ingoldsby, Ziggy Beesley and Scott Bailey.

"I've heard some really good things about Rhys" admitted Carr, on his latest signing.

"He is young and keen to learn with a great attitude towards the game. He is a good skating hard working player who I think the fans are going to enjoy watching this year.

"I'm looking forward to helping Rhys develop his game and become a real impact player."

You can own and loan McCormick's home or away jersey for £100. Your name or message will be on the back of the jersey all season and you get to keep it at the end. Demand is always high for these jerseys so please email and you will be put in a draw. To see the designs checkout our promo video -
