Condren comes home

Streatham IHC are pleased to welcome 22 year old forward Josh Condren to South London for the 2018/19 season.

Josh joins us from Invicta Dynamos where he has iced the last three seasons. The Croydon born forward played his junior hockey at Guildford and Slough, before making his senior debut for the NIHL Jets in 2013/14.

“Josh is a type of player you hate to play against, he works extremely hard and is looking forward to pulling on a RedHawks jersey” said Head Coach Jeremy Cornish.

“I’ve had the pleasure of coaching and playing against Josh in the past and I know I exactly what he’s going to bring to the table. He’s looking for a fresh start and bringing in another local lad is fantastic. I can’t wait to see how Josh progresses throughout this season.”

Condren comes from a hockey family as father Steve iced for Streatham in the 1991/92 season and had long spells with both Richmond, Medway and Romford over a lengthy career.

“Streatham is where I first started playing hockey as a kid” said Condren jnr, who also had a spell with London Raiders in 2014/15.

“It's great to come back and play for the team I grew up watching. The squad looks great and I can’t wait for the season to start!”

Condren is the latest announcement to the roster ahead of our pre-season double header weekend against Swindon Wildcats on the 8th and 9th of September.
