Ranson returns

Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that forward Jacob Ranson will be returning for the 2018/19 season.

The flame haired 22 year old first joined us in 2016 from the London Raiders and is known for his speed and never ending work rate that keeps opposition defensemen on their toes.

“I can't say enough about Jacob, a quality person both on and off the ice and a player that gives 100 per cent in every game and practice” said Head Coach Jeremy Cornish.

“Jacob is very intelligent and plays the game the right way. He can play up and down the line-up and rarely makes a mistake. Jacob also never hesitates when sticking up for himself or a teammate. I'm really pleased we could get Jacob back this year, his speed is unbelievable and hopefully with more opportunity should be able to improve on last season.”

Ranson played 39 games last season scoring 4 goals and 9 assists, and played a key role on the penalty kill in most games. He was awarded Coach's Player of the Year for his efforts in the campaign.

The Romford born winger played junior hockey in Canada and Sweden and has played for a number of clubs in the league including MK and Invicta.

“I’m delighted to be back at the club, it’s a great set-up with amazing owners and a fantastic coaching staff” said Ranson, who also dropped the gloves a couple of times last season.

“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season as I feel last year was a learning curve and this year we should be looking to push on. From what I’ve heard the team is looking strong and I think we’ll cause the big boys even more problems this time round.”
