Farn-tastic news as Michael returns

Streatham IHC are delighted to announce that league player of the season for 2017/18, Michael Farn will be back in a Streatham jersey this coming season. Farn was the top scoring defenseman in the league last term in a standout season on the blue line.

The Durham born defenseman was named in the league all-star team and turned heads across the campaign with dominant displays on the blue line, most notably on the powerplay.

"Having Michael back this season was one of my top priorities this off-season" said Head Coach Jeremy Cornish.

"It's no surprise that he won the Player of the Year award this year. He was fantastic for us both on and off the ice and I think we may even see more of his game after a year in the league. Michael is a game changer and a player that is very poised on the puck, he's a leader and hopefully with some stronger support around him he will be able to have anther strong season."

"He is the exact type of person we want at Streatham, he's unselfish and leaves everything out on the ice every single game."

Farn will wear number 55 again this season for the team and finished last season with an incredible 18 goals and 39 assists, nudging in him into the top scoring charts across the league.

"I’m delighted to be back with The RedHawks` for the upcoming season" said Farn.

"It was fairly straight forward when speaking with Cornish. I want to be competitive whilst enjoying my hockey and I believe I get that with Streatham. I think we improved massively last year and hopefully we will hit the ground running and improve on last years performance. I'm looking forward to September already!"
