RedHawks stung in Bracknell

Streatham travelled to Berkshire to play Bracknell Bees in a league game for the very first time in history. Streatham were without Player of the Month Ryan Watt through suspension however Michael Farn returned to the line up and new signing Jamie Hayes made his debut.

The game started badly for the RedHawks as Jan Bendik put the Bees in front with only two minutes played. Seven minutes later, a defensive mix up saw Frankie Bakrlik skate through alone and make it 2-0.

On the 15 minute mark, new signing Hayes caught Bendik and appeared to injure him only for Bees’ James Galazzi to come over to seek retribution with both players dropping the gloves.

The second period exploded into life as Tom Avery made it 3-0 and then Bees' Josh Tetlow and RedHawks Brandon Miles went toe to toe centre ice. There was another fight six minutes later as Harvey Stead went for a reluctant Jacob Ranson and the pair traded blows, before the Bees made it 4-0 through George Norcliffe.

Streatham pulled a goal back through Ryan Webb after he finished an Alex Sampford pass, but Norcliffe replied immediately with the Bees leading 5-1 with one period to go. The third period continued in the same vein as the previous two.

Streatham’s Ben Paynter dropped the gloves with Stead with 11 minutes to go, in reference to the Ranson incident and with 9 minutes remaining Callum Best completed the scoring for a 6-1 win.

Scorers: Webb 1+0, Sampford 0+1, Hayes 0+1
