Colclough returns

Streatham IHC are pleased to announce the return of goalie Matt Colclough.

The 27 year old Guildford born stopper joined us in 2016 from Wightlink Raiders after previously icing with Basingstoke Bison in the EPL.

Matty learnt his trade in his home town and came through the junior system at Guildford before making his senior debut in 2009 on the Island where he won a NIHL league title in 2010/11 and then the Play-Offs in 2015/16.

Colclough was also voted into the league all-star team on two occasions and made 23 appearances for the RedHawks last season.

‘Streatham's a great place to play and I’m thankful for the opportunity to return’ said Colclough.

‘I am looking forward to settling in for a full year and excited for the season with the team.’

Colclough ended 2016/17 with a 90.63% save average and will wear the number 27 jersey again this term.

‘Matty and I have been together for the last seven seasons and when building a team the goalie is the most important position to secure’ said Head Coach Jeremy Cornish.

‘I'm very happy with my defence this off-season and by having one of the best goalies in the league will give us confidence from the start.'

‘Matty is a fully committed player and keeps himself in great shape. He knows this season will be like no other that we have played, but he is looking forward to facing tougher opposition and seeing how he stacks up against a better quality shooters.’

Colclough’s own and loan jerseys are available now for £100. Simply email to try and secure his home or away jersey. He will wear it all year and you get to keep it at the end of the season (washed of course).
