Doughty signs up in SW16

Streatham IHC are pleased to announce the signing of exciting of NIHL All-Star forward Aidan Doughty.

The 21 year old burst back into the NIHL last season after three seasons over the pond and impressed immediately with 17 goals in 22 games for the Solent Devils.

It was that impressive scoring form that earned him a place in the league all-star team as voted by his peers. An achievement even more impressive given the Devils sixth place finish. Doughty worked his way through the Isle of Wight junior system and before he moved to the USA, and scored 52 goals in just 16 games at u18 level.

‘I’m really looking forward to playing for Streatham this season’ said Doughty.

‘The team is looking really strong this year and from playing against  Streatham last season the fans were great, I just can't wait to get things going and have a good season.’

At 6’2” Doughty brings size, speed and goals to the roster and Coach Jeremy Cornish admits he is happy to have been able to secure his services.

‘Aidan is a player I coached a few seasons ago and after a season with me he went off to the States to play a couple seasons of Junior hockey’

‘Last season he was in Gosport and was one of the top players in the league. He has great size, skates very well and can put the puck in the net. The thing I like most about Aiden is how he competes, team's hate playing against him and he never shies away from a big hit.’

‘I'm hoping with better line mates this year he will rack up the points and lead our team offensively. He is a super talented player that has a great attitude towards his hockey.’

Doughty’s own and loan jerseys are available now for £100. Simply email to try and secure his home or away jersey. He will wear it all year and you get to keep it at the end of the season (washed of course).
