Cooke returns

Streatham IHC are pleased to announce the third member of our playing roster as Chris Cooke returns to the blue line for his second season in South London.

The 22 year old Guildford born player rose through the ranks of the junior club in the leafy Surrey town before getting the call up to the Flames senior squad in 2011. After 74 games in three seasons at the Spectrum in the EPL, Cooke moved to Invicta Dynamos before heading to the Isle of Wight for two full seasons where he bagged a Play-Off winner’s medal.

A big unit known for his physical play, Cooke joined Streatham last season and also managed to squeeze in a trip to Kazakhstan with the Great Britain University team where he iced against Canada and Slovakia.

‘Although last year was undoubtedly very tough for everyone, I fully enjoyed my time on the High Road’ said Cooke.

‘With news of the league re-structure new challenges have been set that I am really looking forward too and the hard work starts now ahead of hitting the ice in September.’

Chris joins Adam Wood as our second returnee this summer and of course new signing Brandon Miles.

‘Chris is a player I brought with me last year and one I did not hesitate to call this off-season’ said Coach Jeremy Cornish.

‘He gets better every year and is still very young. Chris played big minutes for us last year against some of the league's top players and I wouldn't expect that to change. I know he is looking forward to the challenge of the new league format and I'm excited to see the progress he will make.’

Cookes own and loan jerseys are available now for £100. Simply email to try and secure his home or away jersey. He will wear it all year and you get to keep it at the end of the season (washed of course).
