End of season award winners

Streatham’s delayed end of season awards evening for 2016/17 took place last night and the winners can now be revealed.

After a turbulent season that saw the club replace Head Coach Nick Chinn with Jeremy Cornish three months into the campaign, a higher than usual player turnover and of course the retirement of fan favourites Joe Johnston and Liam Rasmussen, there was plenty to reflect upon in leafy South London.

The evening took place almost a month later than usual to allow the guests of Casimir Madren-Britton’s wedding to the lovely Diana in Los Angeles to attend, including of course the dashing groom.

The awards were as follows:

Best defenseman: James Warman
Best forward: Sean Scarbrough
Players Player of the Year: Joe Johnston
Coaches Player of the Year: Danny Rose
Supporters Player of the Year: Joe Johnston

We will be announcing the 2017/18 playing squad over the coming days and weeks as we compete in the second tier of British ice hockey for the first time since the early 1990’s.

The season will begin in September and we will announce the fixtures as soon as we have them.
