Squad update

Streatham welcome back an old face, lose a key player and will be missing a club stalwart for the next few weeks.

Coach Nicky Chinn has also confirmed that some new signings will be announced next week as we address gaps in the squad.

Streatham have reluctantly accepted a release request from defenseman David Savage who has been offered an opportunity in the league above.

The smooth skating blueliner was a marquee signing for us back in January and we wish him all the best in the future.

Savage said:

'I would like to thank all of the supporters at Streatham and everyone at the club for making me feel welcome during my time here. I felt this was an opportunity I couldnt turn down and the club have been very understanding.'

As revealed earlier in the weekend, defenseman Adam Mahoney has rejoined the club after a seasons break and brings mobility and a calm presence at the back. Mahoney joined us in 2011 originally and was a former junior at Basingstoke.Everyone is delighted that Adam has decided to lace up the skate again.

We must also mention that long time goalie Will Sanderson will be taking a break from squad duties for a few weeks for personal reasons and everyone at the club wish him all the best and look forward to him returning to action when he is ready.

We are likely to announce one or two new signings this week to add to our squad so keep an eye on social media.
