Allen the key

Streatham IHC are delighted to welcome back #11 Joe Allen for the 2016/17 campaign.

The 26 year old Londoner is back for his fifth season with the club.

Widely recognised as one of the fastest players in the league, Allen joined us in 2012 and has stayed ever since.

‘Joe is a quiet guy with incredible energy and speed’ said Head Coach Nick Chinn.

‘He is a South London boy and is one of the best penalty killers in the league as well as being a total nightmare for opposition defensemen with his forechecking.’

Joe spent much of his junior career with Guildford before making his senior debut with Invicta Dynamos in 2007/8.

Since joining us Joe has popped up with important goals and first made an impression on Streatham fans by shocking Romford tough guy Sean Wallis when the two dropped the gloves at Rom Valley Way in one of his first appearances for the club.

He hasn’t dropped the gloves since but his hard skating is his main asset and he is a key player for the team.

‘I am happy to be back’ said Allen.

‘We got close to winning things last year so hopefully we take the next step this season.’

Want your name on the back of Joe’s jersey this season? You can sponsor his home or away jersey for only £100.

You get to keep it at the end of the season, however as they are so popular we are going to put all interested names into a hat and draw out the winner over the next 48 hours.

Email if you are interested.
