The Best news

Streatham are delighted to announce the return of Callum Best to the squad for the 2016/17 season.

The silky smooth center man rejoined us from Guildford Flames midway through last season and will be pulling on the number 14 jersey again in SW16.

The 24 year old originally arrived at Streatham in 2013/14 season and was named league player of the year in 2014/15.

‘Besty is a flair player who can change a game quickly and that is what every team needs’ said Head Coach Nick Chinn.

‘He took a while to adjust back in the NIHL after his time in Guildford but by the end of the season he was getting back to his best and we expect him to push on next year and be the match winner we know he can be.’

The former GB junior international made his senior debut with his hometown team of Guildford before spells at Bracknell, Slough, Basingstoke and Invicta before finally landing in South London.

Blessed with exceptional hands and smooth skating ability, Best can play in both special teams and as both a playmaker and scorer.

Currently in Thailand on a summer break, Best took time out from stroking elephants and working out on the beach to say:

‘After having a split season last year between the EPL and NIHL, I am looking forward to a full season in Streatham and going a step further in each competition.’

‘On a personal note I am coming back fit and want to get back to the top of the scoring charts and help the team win some silverware.’

Callum will continue to wear the number 14 jersey and you can sponsor his home or away jersey for only £100.

You get to keep it at the end of the season, however as they are so popular we are going to put all interested names into a hat and draw out the winner over the next 48 hours.
