Thank you Dom

Streatham Ice Hockey would like to place on record their thanks to defenseman Dom Hopkins who will not be icing with us in the 2016/17 season.

Dom has been a key figure on our first line since arriving in 2012 from Wightlink Raiders.

The 35 year old blue liner joined us during our time in Brixton and was arguably our first star signing since our re-forming in 2004 after being voted on the league all-star team the previous year.

The 6’ 5” Reading born defenseman made an immediate impact in his first season scoring 14 goals from the blue line thanks to his thunderous shot. He went on to make over 140 appearances for the club, made the league all-star team twice again and was part of the first Streatham team to ice at the new rink.

Dom has played a big role in helping us transform from a club that narrowly avoided relegation to one that has made the cup final twice in the last three seasons and challenged at the top of the league.

Most impressively he has barely missed a game in his time here and his commitment to the cause never wavered through good times or bad in the last four campaigns.

A popular player with the fans, We would like to thank Dom for his contribution in a Streatham Jersey and wish him well.
