Clayton back on a two-way

Streatham Redskins are pleased to announce the return of teenager Daniel Clayton on a two way contract with the Haringey Racers.

The 19 year old forward was a prolific scorer in the junior age groups and continues his development with the club in 2015/16.

Daniel made his senior Streatham debut in the 2012/13 season with a single appearance but has since gone on to ice in consecutive seasons for the team whilst also mixing in appearances in the NIHL2 with Invicta Mustangs and Haringey Racers.

Daniel increased his game time last year and appeared alongside fellow Streatham junior Ruskin Hughes in a number of games, and is a former winner of the prestigious Jonny Haynes trophy.

Clayton brings with him a family connection to Streatham as he is related to both former fiery Redskin forward David Smith and ex-defenceman Sean Smith who last year played up in Dundee.

“Daniel is a player that has come all the way through the Streatham junior set up” said Assistant Coach Terry England.

“He is a talented young man with impressive stats at all of his junior levels.  He benefited from a two way with Haringey last season and is going to continue with that this year. We are really pleased with Daniels progress and he will be one to look out for in the future.”
