7 Up for Carr

Streatham Redskins will welcome back defenseman David Carr for his seventh season in South London.
The North East native first signed for Streatham in 2009 from Haringey Greyhounds, and was one of a number of new faces brought into the club by Barry Spours.

Despite a misfortunate start to his Streatham career where he was carried off injured after only one period of hockey on his debut,Carr returned to action four months later and has been an almost ever present since.

He has made over 170 appearances for the club and is 12th in the all-time appearances for the club just behind former Captain Ed Koral and just ahead of current Coach Warren Rost.

Carr started as a junior at Durham and made his senior debut as a 16 year old for Sunderland Chiefs in what was then ED1 back in 1996. A move to Billingham followed and then a move south to play for Haringey in the EPL in 2000.

Two seasons at Alexandra Palace were followed by a drop down to the ENL with Oxford City Stars where he played for five seasons interjected with a one season return to Haringey in 2005.

"Streatham is home now and it has been so satisfying to see the team and club grow and grow each year, and help it get back towards where it should be" said Carr on his return.

"I will be combining my duties with the Redskins with coaching the under 18's alongside Adam Goldstone and hopefully can make a positive impact in all areas"

"The lads in Streatham are a great bunch and the off ice team work so hard it really makes everything so much more pleasurable to be involved with"

"Each year we seem to turn things up a notch with the signings we make so its important that the core of guys who have been here a while like myself make them feel at home quickly and get them tapped into the spirit that makes players enjoy playing here"
