The 28 year old Harrow born stopper has been a highly rated goalie at this level for many years and is a welcome addition to the team for 2015/16.

A junior at Basingstoke, Wride made his senior debut in 2003 for the Bracknell Bees and played another year of juniors with the Berkshire club gaining solid reputation.

A move to Haringey Greyhounds in 2005 in a team containing current Streatham player David Carr and former Redskins import Craig Metcalf, gave Wride the chance to shine as a starter and he took it with both hands.

Wride then followed his impressive debut season up in style as he won the ENL Play-Offs with Greyhounds the following year and was a stand-out earning him a move to MK Lightning in the EPL.

In 2007 he moved back to Haringey before winning the play-offs with Bracknell in 2009/10, and again with Chelmsford in 2010/11. Wride then moved east to play for the Invicta Dynamos but lasted only a year in Kent.

He has been with Bracknell Hornets ever since as their starting goalie and has now signed up with Streatham as part of a netminding tandem with Will Sanderson.

“I have worked with David pretty successfully in the England Junior system before so I’m really looking forward to renewing that relationship” said Coach Warren Rost.

“I’ve wanted to sign him a few times but he’s always been playing elsewhere and unavailable.  Now he’s signed it gives us two starting goalies which is the way we want to proceed in the future”

“There’s plenty of opportunities for two goalies and both goalies are looking forward to some healthy competition and playing.”
