England expects

Streatham’s bench will once again feature the figure of Assistant Coach Terry England this season, as the long time club stalwart commits to the 2015/16 campaign.

England joins Head Coach Warren Rost and Player Assistant Coach Nicky Chinn on the coaching staff for the new season and will be clutching his trademark clipboard as usual on game days.

Formerly a player at both Richmond and Streatham, Terry was a long time coach in the junior system at the old High Road rink; before former Redskins Coach Barry Spours signed him up as his number 2 for the 2009/10 campaign.

Still a big supporter of local talent and a man embedded in the club as a whole, Terry is a quiet and committed member of the backroom team and we are delighted he is back.

“It is exciting times at the High Road and I am delighted to be back” said England, who has overseen the closure of the old rink, the Brixton years and the new rink opening in his time.

“With the addition of the new players for the coming season and a strong core of returnees, I think we will continue to progress”

“When you look back at 2012 when we only just survived relegation, we have moved forward with massive strides every season since”

“We have also learned lessons and ticked boxes that previously proved difficult”

“We are a force to be reckoned with this year and will be very realistically looking to win some silverware this season”

Terry will not be wearing a jersey so unfortunately there is no ‘Own and loan’ option for this announcement but you can console yourself by entering our prize puckwatch competition on Twitter.
