All-Star return

Streatham are delighted to announce the return of league all-star and powerful defenceman Dom Hopkins for the 2015/16 season.

The 6’ 5” blueliner has committed to a fourth season in Streatham colours after joining the club in 2012 from Wightlink Raiders. Hopkins has been a leading light since arriving in South London, with his vast experience and influence on the powerplay a key component of Streatham’s successes.

A former GB junior international, Hopkins enjoyed campaigns at Guildford, Slough, Dundee, London and Basingstoke over a distinguished senior career that started as a teenager back in 1998.

Last season he showed no signs of slowing down, ending the season as the highest scoring defenceman in the NIHL South and also picking up a place on the Pro Hockey News league All-Star team.

His trademark slapshot and powerful skating style make him a handful for any opposition and he is a still a much sought after signature each summer in the NIHL.

“It was an easy decision for me to sign up for another season at Streatham” said Hopkins.

“We have amazing fans, a fantastic facility and an organisation that is first class at making sure everything is in place for us to just turn up and concentrate on playing”

“After speaking with Warren, I am really excited at the upcoming season and the team we are putting together”

“The club has taken yet another step forward this year and we will be right up there challenging for silverware. I can’t wait to get started”

Hopkins is a firm fans favourite, a first line regular and also stars in the fictional photobook drama 'Three Towers' in the matchnight programme.

Dom will be wearing his trademark number 28 jersey and you can have your name printed on it, plus keep it at the end of the year thanks to our own and loan scheme.

It really is a great way to support the club and get one of our cool jerseys at the end of the season. Email Streatham1972@yahoo.co.uk to secure the home or away jersey now.
