Tough forward Chris Wiggins joins us from Milton Keynes Lightning to add muscle and size to the Redskins squad.

The 27 year old made his name as one of the toughest players in the EPL in recent seasons that saw him ice for Basingstoke Bison and Bracknell Bees as well as the Lightning.

A handful for any opposing team, 6’ 6” Wiggins is a signature always in demand every summer and alongside fellow new face Nicky Chinn he represents a big statement of intent from Streatham this season.

“After the last 6 seasons in the EPL I have made the decision that it's the right time and place for me to be continuing my career with the Redskins in the NIHL” said Wiggins, who won the BNL Play-Offs and the EPL Championship with Guildford as a youngster.

“After speaking with Warren, Nicky and team mates past and present, I was easily convinced that this is the type of club I want to play for”

“I'm really excited to get the season underway and I know that we will be a team that will be able to compete week in and week out hopefully take home some silverware in the process”

Wiggins is well known for his ability to drop the gloves, however he is also a great presence in front of the net and will be used in a more expansive role at Streatham. A power forward in every sense of the word with good hands and plenty of experience, the Guildford born player is bound to be a key man for Streatham this season.

“As a team we've been getting closer and closer to winning a trophy over the last few seasons and securing Chris is a going to make a huge contribution to us getting over that line” said Coach Warren Rost.

“He's got serious size and tightness but he can really play the game as well and he's going fit straight into our free flowing attacking style of hockey”
