Streatham suffered a frustrating defeat to start 2019 as the team lost 4-3 to the Raiders in Romford. The RedHawks suffered a major blow in the first period as star defenseman Michael Farn departed injured, and matters were made worse early in the second as Leigh Jamieson was ejected on a checking to the head penalty. Despite the stretched rearguard (missing Rupe Quiney and Jordan Gregory through injury), the  RedHawks almost pulled off a stunning comeback thanks to two shorthanded goals courtesy of Alex Roberts and Adam Carr plus an early effort from Ryan Webb. Raiders scorers were Juraj Huska, Brandon Ayliffe, Jake Sylvester and Aaron Connolly.
